Archery South Africa is the governing body of the sport of archery in South Africa. It is affiliated to the South African Sports Confederation and Olympic Committee (SASCOC) and registered with the Department of Sports and Recreation.

SANIFAA

SANIFAA, the South African National Indoor and Field Archery Association, is the local archery body affiliated to the international IFAA (International Field Archery Association) and competes in the IFAA world events. The SANIFAA committee consists of Executive members and Representatives from the Provincial bodies. Although named SANIFAA, this association presents a variety of events, including normal field archery events

SANAA

SANAA, the South African National Archery Association, is the local archery body affiliated to the international FITA (Federation International De Tir a L'arc) and competes in the FITA world events. The SANAA committee consists of Executive members and Representatives from the Provincial bodies. SANAA present mainly Target and indoor events. http://www.sanaa.org.za


In 1994 attention began focusing on implementing the new strategies to address the discrepancies and injustices in sport provision and participation of the past. In 2000 the South African Sport Commission was formed and played a vital role in coordinating sport amongst the various role players in South Africa. It provided support service to the federations, athletes, coaches, managers, administrators and facility managers in terms of scientific support, sport information, education and training and advice. http://www.sasapd.org.za
